PR Sreejesh, custodian of India’s hockey fortunes

Sreejesh’s journey, one of hard work and sacrifice, began in early 2000, when he, as a gawky youngster in his trademark netted vest and lungi, watched the senior Indian players go through their paces. On Thursday, as Sreejesh padded the ball away and the hooter went off, his father Raveendran patted his heart. The match wasn’t for the faint-hearted.
